Photographs of Irene Diaz (Neno)

Mexican photographer Irene Diaz (Neno) will exhibit “ Mexico in Motion”, the result of 3 years of digital photography on December 15, 2006 at Art Print Express Gallery. Diaz grew up in Zacatecas and in the United States . Diaz interest for photography started at age 9 where she took her first pictures of the botanical gardens in San Francisco California . She now lives and works in San Miguel de Allende. Diaz photographs her subjects while moving the camera. This process allows her camera to create a blur of colorful abstract illusions. The results reflect the feelings of her subjects and at times distorting the reality of the image. Beautiful and surreal her works will undeniably evoke a spiritual journey to all who view them. Diaz creativity comes form her personal experiences as she explores her Mexican Culture.

With passion and love of photography she makes pictures that contain a hint of imagery that can be seen and unseen. This series was inspired by the spirit of the Mexican people who on a daily basis live life to the fullest. Where any day is a good day for a fiesta.
